The history of Vaillant dates all the way back to 1874. Johann Vaillant set up a Master fitters business. Johann Vaillant was a developer of new technologies, and in 1984 Patented a new “closed system” gas-fired bathroom boiler designed to fill your bath.
Impressively this was the first device that made it possible to heat water hygienically, without contaminating the water with harmful combustion gases. This was understandably a great innovation for the time, and Johann had a lasting impact on the development of heating technology. Furthermore, in 1924, another technical milestone was reached in that he developed the first central heating boiler. This device was made specifically to heat a whole building with a central boiler unit, much like today’s widely used systems.
